Capuchon Gonzalez

Capuchon Gonzalez, born Manuel Roberto Gonzalez, is an Argentine stand-up comedian and humorist from Villa Belgrano, a small locality near Juan Bautista Alberdi in Tucuman Province, where he still resides. He began performing in 1982 at his hometown's patron saint festivities as a folk singer, and within months moved into comedy, initially rewriting the lyrics of well known chacareras with a humorous twist before developing his own comic stories. His stage nickname originated when a childhood friend called out to him as Capuchon during a live radio broadcast, and the announcer introduced him on air by that name, which stuck as his artistic identity alongside his surname Gonzalez. For more than two decades he has toured Argentine provinces including Tucuman, Catamarca, Cordoba and Chaco, performing at folk gatherings known as penas, as well as festivals, theaters and private parties. His comedy is deliberately family friendly, avoiding swear words and aggressive material, aiming for jokes that can be understood anywhere in the country. He is married with four children and continues to headline touring shows such as 'La Fiesta del Humor'.
