Arnout Van den Bossche
About Arnout Van den Bossche
Arnout Van den Bossche took an engineer's toolkit onto the comedy stage. He studied civil engineering in materials science at KU Leuven, added a diploma in business economics from UGent, and held engineering and consulting jobs at companies such as Siemens and Belgacom before comedy took over.
He first tried stand-up in 1997, at a workshop linked to the Hoegaarden Stand-up Tour. The breakthrough came in 2009: he won Humo's Comedy Cup and, two weeks later, the Deltion Cabaret Festival in Zwolle.
On stage he plays a consultant or trainer, working from a flip chart and a projection screen in a carefully matched outfit, and treats relationships, office life and family as presentation material. His show De Relatiefluisteraar toured from 2010 to 2015 and was broadcast on Eén in 2014. It was followed by Burn-out voor Beginners, which opened in 2016 at the Arenbergschouwburg in Antwerp, and by Coach in 2024.
