Babu Carreira

Babu Carreira is a Brazilian actress and stand-up comedian who has worked across television, radio, events and stand-up comedy. Her solo special Solteira Sim, Sozinha Tambem, inspired by her book of the same name, uses humor to address turning 30, family dynamics, female self-esteem and bisexuality, and she released a comedy special on YouTube in December 2024. Her more recent solo show, Monstra, portrays her current life and the various ways she feels she does not fit expectations as a woman, including being a heavier woman at the gym and living in a non-monogamous relationship outside traditional norms, and she uses the show to address fatphobia and bisexuality with a light touch. She has performed in the CulturaEmCasa online stand-up specials alongside Cintia Rosini and Joao Bubiz, and hosts the podcast Comediando, about new niches within Brazilian stand-up comedy.
