About Bruna Braga
Bruna Braga is a Brazilian stand-up comedian born in São Paulo and raised in the city of Osasco. A former makeup artist with a background in Communications and Fashion, she left the backstage of the beauty industry for the stand-up stage in a scene long dominated by white men. She spent six years performing stand-up in São Paulo bars before wider recognition and is a member of "Coisa de Preto," Brazil's first Black stand-up comedy group. In 2018 she won the Comedy Central Brazil reality competition "A Seleção" and went on to appear across three seasons of "Comedy Central Apresenta"; in 2020 she won the TNT reality competition "MEME." She has also worked as a staff writer on the programs "Dani-Se" and "Jojo Nove e Meia." On stage, Braga draws intelligently on her own experiences, addressing psychological disorders, eating disorders, frustrated relationships, childhood memories, body image, empowerment and family inheritance, including her relationship with her mother.
