About Gio Lisboa
Gio Lisboa (born Giovanne Brandão Lisboa) is a Brazilian stand-up comedian from Porto Alegre, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. He developed an early interest in humour and theatre, and at age 16 joined a theatre group, later beginning regular weekly comedy performances in the city around 2015. Before establishing himself as a solo act, he also worked as a comedy writer, contributing scripts for other Brazilian comedians.
Lisboa performs solo stand-up in which he recounts humorous stories from his everyday life and interacts heavily with the audience. His live shows incorporate music and technology: he is accompanied on stage by a guitarist and a DJ, and makes use of autotune vocal effects. His touring productions include "Fora da Casinha", "Fora da Plateia" and "Medonho", the latter a self-described "chaotic comedy" that toured extensively across Brazil.
In 2024 he extended the "Medonho" tour to Europe, performing in several countries including Portugal and Ireland. He has recorded material for the Comedy Central channel in Brazil. His YouTube channel has surpassed 2 million subscribers.
