Marcito Castro

Marcito Castro, whose legal name is Marcio Rogerio Castro, is a Brazilian stand-up comedian from the Sarandi neighborhood in the north zone of Porto Alegre. He trained as a history teacher and worked in education before turning to comedy, which had accompanied him with jokes since childhood. He began his stand-up career in 2018 and built a following with stories about growing up in Porto Alegre's working-class outskirts, mixing 1980s and 90s nostalgia with memories of getting by on little money. His comedy special Respeita a Vila, released as a full show on YouTube, had surpassed 300,000 views by late 2024. Castro continues to tour nationally, performing at venues such as the Auditorio Araujo Vianna in Porto Alegre and at the Porto Verao Alegre festival.
