A finalist at the Laugh Factory's "Funniest Person in the World" competition in 2016, Couto is one of Brazil's most recognized comedians of his generation.
Murilo Couto launched his TV career in 2009 and joined the cast of the talk show Agora E Tarde on Band channel in 2011 alongside Danilo Gentili. He moved with that team to SBT in 2013 to co-host The Noite com Danilo Gentili, Brazil's most popular late night show. In 2018, he starred in the Netflix film "Ghost Killers vs. Bloody Mary" (Exterminadores do Alem Contra a Loira do Banheiro). Since 2017, he has also performed as rapper "Emicouto," a comedic alter ego that parodies hip-hop culture.
Murilo Couto tours extensively across Brazil throughout the year. He performs at mid-size and large theaters in major cities including Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belem and Porto Alegre. International shows for Brazilian audiences abroad have also been part of his touring schedule, including appearances in New York.
