Murilo Gun

Murilo Gun is a Brazilian stand-up comedian, speaker and entrepreneur, considered one of the pioneers of stand-up comedy in Brazil. He grew up in Recife, Pernambuco, in the country's northeast, and was also a pioneer of the early Brazilian internet, winning two iBest awards in 1997 and 1998 as a teenager. At 16, in 1999, he founded the startup BIT and developed 'Peca Comida', a pager-and-fax based food ordering service often described as a precursor of iFood. He worked as a tech entrepreneur for about a decade at Porto Digital before reinventing himself as one of Brazil's first nationally touring stand-up comedians and a sought-after keynote speaker on creativity and innovation.

Murilo Gun is best known for his stand-up special 'Propaganda Enganosa', which has toured 17 Brazilian states, was released on DVD and became one of the most-watched Brazilian stand-up specials on Netflix. He hosted and performed on Comedy Central Brasil programs including 'Comedy Central Stand-up Olimpico' (2012) and 'Republica do Stand-up', and has appeared on SBT and Multishow productions. In 2014 he spent three months at the NASA research center in Silicon Valley participating in futurism studies at Singularity University, and upon returning founded Keep Learning School, a creativity school that reached around 20,000 paying students in its first five years. He later opened the curriculum to the public for free, reaching more than 500,000 students, before closing the company to dedicate himself to a sabbatical focused on self-knowledge. His most recent stand-up show 'Fe no Flow' explores the balance between order and chaos and has been touring Sao Paulo and other Brazilian cities.

Murilo Gun tours Brazil regularly with his current stand-up show 'Fe no Flow' and earlier material such as 'Propaganda Enganosa'. Recent residencies have included Teatro B32 and other theaters in Sao Paulo. He also performs in English at Brazil Live Comedy events. His Netflix special and Comedy Central performances are widely available online for international audiences, and he continues to deliver keynote talks for corporate audiences on creativity, innovation and humor.
