Rogério Vilela

Rogério Gonçalves Ferreira Vilela, better known as Rogério Vilela, is a Brazilian stand-up comedian, screenwriter, cartoonist, illustrator and entrepreneur born on November 8, 1970 in Penápolis, in the interior of São Paulo state. He built his career in the city of São Paulo, where he still lives and works today. Vilela is widely recognized as one of the exponents of his generation in Brazilian stand-up comedy, a position he consolidated through participations in several editions of the República do Stand-Up specials in 2012 and through years of live performances in São Paulo comedy houses such as Comedians Comedy Club.

Rogério Vilela began his career in humor through illustration, publishing comic strips in major Brazilian newspapers and magazines including Folha de S. Paulo, Veja, Playboy, Placar, Superinteressante, Exame, Época and O Estado de S. Paulo. He is one of the co-founders of Mundo Canibal, an early Brazilian internet humor portal that became one of the largest phenomena of the Brazilian web, and of Fábrica de Quadrinhos, a Brazilian comics studio. Beyond illustration and comics, Vilela developed a parallel career as a stand-up comedian, performing in clubs across São Paulo and touring Brazil with solo shows. Today his main project is the podcast Inteligência Ltda, which he hosts and which has grown into one of the largest podcasts in Brazil with more than 5 million subscribers on YouTube, featuring long-form conversations with guests ranging from comedians and athletes to politicians and scientists, always with a strong comedic angle.

Rogério Vilela continues to perform live stand-up shows in São Paulo, frequently appearing at Comedians Comedy Club and at independent rooms across the city. He has also been announced for shows at events tied to the Inteligência Ltda podcast brand. His sets and selected podcast clips can be found on his YouTube channel and on the official Inteligência Ltda channel. Fans can also follow him on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) for current tour dates and live appearances.
