Danick Martineau

Martineau studied media arts at the Cegep de Jonquiere on the radio track, and radio is where he started: at eighteen he was hosting on the cooperative station in Coaticook, and he later wrote and delivered comic segments for Debout les Comiques on CKOI-FM. The YouTube channel he opened in 2016 ran musical parodies about Quebec news, hockey and pop culture, and those videos are what carried his name beyond the region.

On stage he has toured Quebec since 2017 with a show that alternates stand-up and comic songs, and he takes a separate show into secondary schools. Television has used him as a personality as much as a comedian: appearances on Sucre Sale and La Semaine des 4 Julie, the win on Big Brother Celebrites, and a season of Le maitre du jeu, which he also won. Le Progres de Coaticook named him its personality of the year.
