About Darcy Michael
Darcy Michael has been working Canadian rooms since the festival circuit picked him up, with a first Canadian Comedy Award nomination in 2010 for a set at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival and a half hour television special the same year. The stand-up is confessional and fast, and queer life sits at the centre of the material rather than off to one side of it.
The special One Skinny Bitch, taped at a Toronto club in 2012, was the record that moved him past the festival circuit; the album Family Highs followed in 2016, and in 2018 Just for Laughs produced his hour for a Canadian streaming service. He is a regular on the radio panel show The Debaters, took a role in the sitcom Spun Out, and found a second audience on short video platforms, which he turned into the touring show No Refunds from 2023. A podcast made with another comedian runs alongside the live work.
