Martin Vachon

Martin Vachon trained as an actor before he ever tried stand-up. He graduated from the École de théâtre du Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe in 2005 and made his start in comedy in 2009, so his career in Quebec has always run on two tracks, with screen roles on one side and the stage on the other.

An early test came in 2010 on En route vers mon premier gala Juste pour rire, where he got as far as the semi-finals. From 2013 to 2014 he hosted les Drôles de jeudi du Maurice, a comedy night in Saint-Lazare, and in 2017 he presented his first one-man show, 1er rendez-vous: mensonges et séduction, a title that promises lies and seduction on a first date. He was also part of the cast of 2019:Revue et corrigée.

Television audiences know him as Bruce Martin-Murphy in Mémoires Vives on Radio-Canada and as Gilles in Vrak la vie. In Cheval-Serpent he played Bob, the host of an evening show, which is not far from what he does in front of a crowd. As a presenter he fronted Les gérants d'estrade with Marie-Josée Gauvin, a programme that picks apart how the contestants of Big Brother Célébrités play the game.
