Felipe Avello

Felipe Alejandro Avello Suazo (born 24 May 1974 in Lota, Chile) is a Chilean comedian and journalist who has become one of the country's most prominent stand-up performers. He studied journalism at the Universidad del Desarrollo in Concepcion and began his media career in 1995 in that city, later moving to Santiago. He first gained wide recognition on television as a panelist on the Chilevision entertainment program SQP, where he appeared for close to a decade.

Avello built a substantial live-comedy career alongside his television and radio work, performing monologues and theatrical shows across Chile. In 2019 he took part in the humor segment of the Vina del Mar International Song Festival, where his performance earned him the festival's Silver and Gold Seagull awards (Gaviota de Plata and Gaviota de Oro). He has also worked in radio, co-hosting programs on the station Los 40.

After the COVID-19 pandemic he returned to live performance and expanded his career internationally. In 2022 he recorded a stand-up special, "Solo quiero descansar," which premiered on Amazon Prime Video and was filmed live in Santiago, Chile. He has since toured Chile and Latin America, and his YouTube channel, Felipe Avello Oficial, has built a large following.
