Maikol Chacón

Maikol Chacon is a Colombian stand-up comedian, musician and teacher born in Madrid, a municipality in Cundinamarca. At age eight an infectious conjunctivitis developed into glaucoma that left him blind, and he has said he used humor as a child to avoid being bullied over his disability. Chacon became known to national audiences as a cast member of the long-running television program Sabados Felices, performing under the social media handle Escribalo en Braille, and has said that after establishing himself there he chose to start a career in stand-up. He has since toured his own solo shows, including Viendo por mi Mama and Entre el Si y el No, the latter staged at Bogota's Mero Bar, and continues to build an audience for his stand-up on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram.
