Silvia Castañeda

Silvia Castaneda, who performs as Silvia de Frente, is a Colombian stand-up comedian born in Bogota in 1994. She trained and worked as a civil engineer, taught mathematics and studied art history before leaving engineering to pursue comedy, later completing a master's degree in theater and performing arts in Madrid and touring Spain for three years.

Her first solo show, No es Facil Ser Facil, drew on her experience as a Colombian comedian adapting to life in Madrid, and she has appeared at international comedy festivals across Spanish-speaking countries. She toured for two years with her second show, Tamagochi: Una Comedia Millennial, across Colombia, Spain, Mexico and Canada, and continues to divide her time between Mexico, Spain and Colombia, where she is preparing to premiere a third full show. Beyond performing, she works as a team-building facilitator, drawing eclectic material from her varied background in engineering, art and international touring.
