About Tavo Rodríguez
Gustavo Tavo Rodriguez Renteria is a Colombian stand-up comedian born in Cartagena on January 3, 1992. At 18 he moved to Bucaramanga to study mechanical engineering at the Universidad Industrial de Santander, and comedy entered his life almost by accident while he was still a student. He kept performing alongside his coursework until, in his seventh semester, he left engineering behind to dedicate himself fully to stand-up, a path he has followed professionally since 2012.
He has worked in television for the regional channel TRO on the program Ciudad Comedia and recorded a routine for Comedy Central Latinoamerica's Stand-Up Colombia after being selected as one of 25 Colombian comedians invited to the series. Known for an intelligent, unpredictable style of humor, he tours widely across Colombia, including Medellin, Bogota and Bucaramanga, and has spoken publicly and candidly about living with depression while building a career that depends on making audiences laugh.
