Benjy Dotti
About Benjy Dotti
Voices are the core of what Benjy Dotti does. His show Caricatures is built around vocal impressions, while The Late Comic Show borrows the shape of an American late-night programme for a touring evening that combines stand-up, song, parody and imitation.
He became familiar to French television viewers through Les Grands du Rire on France 3, where he worked with Yves Lecoq, and through Le Grand Journal on Canal+, with further spots on TF1, France 2 and Paris Première. Radio has been the other half of his career: he was a columnist on Rire et Chansons alongside Mathieu Madenian and Yves Pujol, and a host on the web radio of Cauet. In Belgium, the Festival International des Imitateurs gave him both its press prize and its public prize. His material draws on public figures and the news, with nods to music hall, and a good deal of it circulates as parody videos online.
