Dany Mauro
About Dany Mauro
Dany Mauro is an impressionist first, and French pop supplies most of his voices. His repertoire runs through singers such as Garou, Pascal Obispo, Christophe Maé, Daniel Balavoine and Jean-Jacques Goldman, with politicians like Nicolas Sarkozy added to the mix.
Born in Hyères in 1972, he came up through competitions. In 1993 he took third prize at the Superdévoluy comedy festival, and in 1996 he won the final of Graines de star on M6. A long line of solo shows followed, starting with Le Zapping Variété and continuing through Merde in France, L'Électron libre, Méfiez-vous de cet imitateur, Hors-l'imites and Pour vous mesdames.
Broadcasting has run alongside the touring. He has worked on France Inter, spent several seasons on Europe 1 with Anne Roumanoff, joined the team at Sud Radio, and appeared on Groland for Canal+ and on the talk show On n'est pas couché. In 2009 he also released Tamiflu, a comic song about the H1N1 flu.
