Didier Bénureau

Didier Bénureau took theatre classes in Villeneuve-la-Garenne and found his way onto television as one of the regulars of Le Petit Théâtre de Bouvard on Antenne 2. His first one-man show, Enfin Bénureau, followed in 1988, and the dark streak in his writing was rewarded when Bobo, which opened in 2006, won the Prix de l'Humour Noir in 2007 and the S.A.C.D. prize for best one-man show in 2009.

Between those two landmarks came further solo work at the Café de la Gare and the Comédie Caumartin, and Pour Moralès at the Théâtre de la Gaîté-Montparnasse in 2001, which spun off the record Reggae pour Morales. Indigne was a later show. On radio he wrote and read columns for Le Fou du Roi on France Inter.

Acting has run alongside the stage work the whole time. Cinema audiences know him from Papy fait de la résistance, Trop belle pour toi, Les Visiteurs and Grégoire Moulin contre l'humanité. On television he appeared in Caméra Café, played Laurence Awkins in Hero Corp and joined Scènes de ménages as Gilbert, and behind the camera he directed the short films Zanzibar and Les Couilles de mon chat.
