Fary Lopes

Fary Lopes, known as Fary, sometimes called Fary Brito or Fary Lopes B, is a French humorist, born on 7 July 1991 in Paris. Fary is the son of a refrigeration technician and a childcare assistant, both originally from Cape Verde. He grew up in Saint-Maur-des-Fosses in the Parisian suburbs. It was his second-year history-geography teacher, Jessie Troja, at the lycee Marcellin-Berthelot de Saint-Maur, who encouraged him to launch into stand-up and helped him write his first show.

Fary began to become known by participating in the program On n'demande qu'a en rire on France 2 between October 2010 and January 2011, then again for two appearances in October 2011. He then moved to the Jamel Comedy Club and found success between 2014 and 2016. He filled the house with his show at the Grand Point Virgule (Montparnasse) in Paris for two years in 2014 and 2015, before performing in other Parisian venues including the theatre du Chatelet in March 2016. In 2019 he opened a comedy club in Paris, Madame Sarfati, with Paolin Pascot in collaboration with the artist JR.

On 7 July 2023 he performed on the court Philippe-Chatrier at Roland Garros for his new show Aime-moi si tu peux, in front of 15,000 spectators. His shows include Fary is the New Black (2016-2017), Hexagone (2018-2020) and Aime-moi si tu peux (2022-2024). He received the Prix SACD Humour 2024. In his private life, Fary is in a relationship with Amina Muaddi, a Jordanian-Romanian fashion designer, and made the relationship official on his Instagram account in April 2022.
