About Francis Ginibre
Francis Ginibre started out at the beaux-arts school in Toulouse, then in the early 1980s gave up art to follow music. He taught himself the drums and played in several bands until Éric Carrière went looking for a drummer for his show. The two got on at once, and the partnership became Les Chevaliers du Fiel; after meeting Gilles Petit in 1984 they created their first full show.
The duo's stage work is character comedy spread over long-running productions. Repas de famille played from 2000 to 2009 and was followed by Vacances d'enfer, Croisière d'enfer, Otaké and Les Municipaux, la revanche, with figures such as Christian Sanchez, Gilbert Lavergne and the Super Municipal coming back from one show to the next. Their comedy has also gone out on radio and television, including France 3 and C8.
Ginibre and Carrière have made films together as well: Repas de famille in 2014, Les Municipaux, ces héros in 2018 and Les Municipaux, trop c'est trop in 2019. At home in Toulouse the duo launched the Championnat du monde du cassoulet in 2016, an event that began as a joke and was then taken seriously.
