Haroun

Haroun is a French stand-up comedian, actor, and screenwriter born in 1984. Raised in the Paris region, he attended business school while pursuing interests in hip-hop dance and improvisational theatre, and began writing solo comedy shows. He later trained in workplace-oriented improvisation in Toulouse before devoting himself fully to comedy. In 2015 he moved to Paris and gained wider recognition through an appearance with the Jamel Comedy Club. His breakthrough came in November 2016 with the launch of 'Haroun casse la tele', a recurring format in which he inserted himself into real interviews with political figures to satirize them, building a reputation for treating current political events with sarcasm. In 2021 he staged his one-man show 'Seuls' at the Theatre Edouard VII in Paris before taking it on tour, using the piece to explore the darker sides of personality by playing opposite versions of himself on stage. Before settling in Paris he lived for a time in Toulouse, and earlier in his childhood grew up around Bures-sur-Yvette in the Essonne department south of the capital.
