About Isabeau de R.

Isabeau de R. reached the stage late and from an unusual direction. She studied oriental languages at INALCO, took diplomas in Chinese and Korean in 1985, and then spent years in finance: overseeing a construction group's projects in China, helping a bank open a subsidiary abroad, selling investment funds. A café-théâtre course during a holiday in 1997 and a year of improvisation with Frédérique Lelaure in 1999 pulled her towards performance, and in 2003 she gave up finance for good.

Her first one-woman show, Tenue correcte exigée !, was written in 2002 and put in front of an audience three months later; it earned her an award at the festival off in Saint Gervais in 2005. Tenue correcte toujours exigée ! came in 2009 and À suivre ! in 2013. Between those she played Faux Rebonds with Patrick Zard at the Théâtre des Deux Ânes, and she took part in the Chéris d'Anne Roumanoff evenings at the Olympia.

Radio gave her a regular slot with Double Express, a series of 450 chronicles broadcast on France Bleu Paris Région between 2004 and 2005. Television viewers saw her in the fourth season of On n'demande qu'à en rire, where she made three appearances.
