About Norbert Tarayre
Norbert Tarayre, born on 22 September 1980 in Enghien-les-Bains, Val-d'Oise, is a French chef, television host and comedian. He trained in professional kitchens including Chez Nico, a three-Michelin-starred restaurant in London, and later worked under chef Bernard Loiseau in France before opening two restaurants in the Drome region.
Tarayre became widely known to the French public in 2012 after finishing third in the third season of the cooking competition Top Chef on M6. He went on to co-host the culinary program Norbert et Jean: Le Defi with Jean Imbert, and from 2016 to 2023 hosted and judged La Meilleure Boulangerie de France. Between 2015 and 2016 he took his comedy to the stage in a one-man show, One Man Show Patate!, written by Arnaud Gidoin, which toured the French provinces after premiering at La Nouvelle Eve in Paris. In 2023 he returned to cooking as head chef of the restaurant 19.20 at the Prince of Wales hotel, and since 2026 he has served as a judge on Le Meilleur Patissier on M6 alongside Cyril Lignac and Roxane Piana.
