About Pierre-Emmanuel Barré

Pierre-Emmanuel Barré built his name on black humour aimed at politics and society, the kind of material Le Monde summed up by calling him an anarchist of humour. Born in Quimperlé in 1984, he studied biology in Rennes and then left university for the Cours Florent drama school in Paris.

His first solo show, Sale con, had a short run in 2007, and Full Metal Molière followed in 2009, written with Bruno Hausler. The show that fixed his stage persona was Pierre-Emmanuel Barré est un sale con in 2011; later hours include Pfff... and Come-Back, the second co-written with Arsen.

Radio is where a wide audience found him. From 2012 to 2017 he delivered columns on France Inter, first in On va tous y passer and then in La Bande originale, and he walked out in April 2017 after a dispute over a piece urging abstention in the presidential runoff. Television spots came on Canal+ in La Nouvelle Édition and on France 2 in Folie passagère, while his stint on C l'hebdo for France 5 ended after three episodes. In 2024 he joined the team of Guillaume Meurice on La Dernière, broadcast by Radio Nova.

Alongside the stage he makes sketches with Hausler for the Dafouk channel on YouTube, and during the 2020 lockdown he posted a daily Journal du confinement, later followed by a Journal de campagne about the presidential race. At the first Auguste de l'humour ceremony in 2025 he was named columnist of the year.
