Tex (humoriste)

Tex, the stage name of Jean-Christophe Le Texier, trained at the conservatoire in Troyes and first appeared on television in Le Théâtre de Bouvard, alongside Muriel Robin and Jean-Marie Bigard. He played venues such as Les Deux Ânes and the Caveau de la République and then wrote café-théâtre shows of his own, among them Salut Brother, Énorme Dossier, Je m'sens bien and Tex in the City.

Hosting became the larger part of the job. After Plein tube on TMC and La Classe on FR3 he fronted Bingo on France 3 and then presented the game show Les Z'amours on France 2 from 2000 until 2018, co-hosting Intervilles along the way and appearing several times on Fort Boyard. Radio ran in parallel, starting with Les Matinales on Europe 2 and later taking in Rire et Chansons, France Bleu and Bel RTL. That run came to an end after a joke he told on C8 in late 2017 led to his dismissal from the show.
