About Despina Mirou
Despina Mirou began performing as a child actor and, after leaving Greece, built her stand-up career in the United States. Her sets at The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory and New York Comedy Club lean heavily on impressions, with a gallery of voices that runs from Joan Crawford and Marilyn Monroe to Judge Judy, Ozzy Osbourne and Lady Gaga.
The Comedy Union named her its audience favourite stand-up comedy actress in 2018, and in 2019 she received a best stand-up comedy actress award. Acting stays a large part of her work: her screen credits include the HBO series Show Me a Hero in 2015, Days of Our Lives on NBC in 2016, the Netflix comedy series On My Block in 2020 and David Cronenberg's film Crimes of the Future in 2022. She performs in English.
