About Ali Asgar
Ali Asgar's television career goes back to 1987, when he appeared in Ek Do Teen Char and the campus series Chunauti. Drama kept him busy for years afterwards, and his long run as Kamal in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki brought him an Indian Television Academy Award in 2006.
Comedy took over from there. On Comedy Circus he played a rotating set of characters and he hosted Say Shava Shava, and after F.I.R. his widest audience came through grandmother characters: Dadi on Comedy Nights with Kapil, which earned him an ITA Award for a supporting role in 2013, and Nani on The Kapil Sharma Show. He has also hosted Lip Sing Battle, competed in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 and appeared in films such as Khalnayak, Josh, Partner, Tees Maar Khan and Judwaa 2, besides voicing Hindi dubs of the Despicable Me films.
