Jeeya Sethi

Jeeya Sethi is a Mumbai-based stand-up comedian who has performed since 2013 and runs the comedy collective Comedy Ladder. She is the founder of Femapalooza, billed as India's only stand-up show performed by women for a women-only audience, a format she created to give female comics a safe environment to joke about subjects such as bras, body image and gender bias in a socially conservative country. Under her direction Femapalooza staged more than thirty five shows across different Indian cities within its first few years. Her own stand-up style is energetic and heavily improvised, weaving in current events, viral internet topics and extended audience interaction. Beyond performing, she operates a comedy production house that stages shows in multiple cities across India, and has mentored newer comedians, including helping push future stand-up comic Urjita Wani into her first open mics through Comedy Ladder.
