About Karthigeyan Durai
Karthigeyan Durai, known on stage as Karthi Durai or KD, is a Tamil stand-up comedian and product designer from Avadi, Chennai. He studied engineering before turning to graphic design and, around 2017, to stand-up comedy, building his profile within Chennai's stand-up circuit through open mics, regular live shows at venues such as Alliance Francaise and Backyard in Adyar, and online comedy videos, citing comedian Kenny Sebastian as a stylistic influence. He appeared as a contestant across all eight episodes of the first season of Amazon Prime Video's Comicstaan Semma Comedy Pa (Comicstaan Tamil) in 2020, where one of his sketches, 'Rabbit Dustbin', became a highlight of the season. His comedy blends observational and storytelling humour drawn from everyday experiences, delivered mainly in Tamil with English wordplay. He continues to post stand-up videos, including bits on Tamil advertisements and daily life, to his own YouTube channel.
