About Rahul Subramanian
Rahul Subramanian is an Indian stand-up comedian from Mumbai, born on May 10, 1988. A former brand manager, he left a corporate career in marketing to pursue comedy full-time. He broke into the scene in 2014 by winning open-mic competitions including Canvas Laugh Club and Virgin Pants across India, and co-founded the YouTube sketch channel 'Random Chikibum' with Kumar Varun, which became his launchpad to national recognition.
Rahul Subramanian and Kumar Varun won the inaugural YouTube Comedy Hunt in 2015 with their channel 'Random Chikibum', a sketch duo that blended absurdist humor with sharp observational writing. Subramanian later pivoted to solo stand-up, releasing his Amazon Prime Video special 'Kal Main Udega' in 2018, which earned strong reviews and a 7.7/10 rating on IMDb for its witty exploration of everyday Indian life. He went on to appear as a mentor on Comicstaan Season 3, Amazon's flagship comedy competition. His solo live sets, particularly his crowd-work segments, have generated tens of millions of views on YouTube and cemented his reputation for quick, improvisational wit.
Rahul Subramanian tours regularly across India and performs for Indian audiences internationally in cities across the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and the UAE. His Amazon Prime Video special 'Kal Main Udega' is available to stream globally. Clips from his live sets and crowd-work segments are available on the 'Random Chikibum' YouTube channel. He continues to develop and tour new hour-long solo material.
