About Sumit Sourav
Sumit Sourav is an Indian stand-up comedian originally from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, who began performing as an open-mic comic after moving to Kolkata. He went on to perform in Bangalore before becoming a contestant on the second season of Amazon Prime Video's Comicstaan in 2019, and has since built a following across India's comedy circuits, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bangalore. Alongside fellow Comicstaan contestant Rohan Gujral he created the widely shared sketch "What A Coincidence, Bro!". He describes his own comedic style as an absurd take on banal, everyday subjects, and in 2022 he released his debut Amazon Prime Video stand-up special, "Vansh Ka Naash", directed by Karan Asnani.
