About Dodok Jogja
Dodok Jogja, whose real name is Eko Kuswanto, is an Indonesian stand-up comedian based in Yogyakarta. Before turning to comedy he spent years living and performing as a street musician, and became an activist with the Free Street People Movement (Gerakan Kaum Jalanan Merdeka), helping street performers and street children obtain temporary residency documents in the early 2000s. He also worked with the non-governmental organization Urban Poor Consortium on urban poverty issues.
Dodok joined the Stand Up Indo Jogja community and became known for socially critical material drawing on his background in street life and activism. In 2024 he presented a solo stand-up special titled Kehidupunk.
