About Kemal Palevi
Ahmad Kemal Palevi, born 25 August 1989, is an Indonesian actor, stand-up comedian, director, scriptwriter, YouTube personality and broadcaster. He studied an S-1 in Informatics Engineering at Universitas Surabaya and an S-1 in Theatre Arts at Institut Kesenian Jakarta, being dismissed from both.
In 2012, Kemal took part in the audition for the second season of Stand Up Comedy Indonesia Kompas TV and succeeded in passing as a representative from Jakarta. Kemal managed to reach the top 3 round. He is known for delivering comedy material about wild, chaotic and strange things, while still being able to provoke laughter from the audience.
In 2016, Kemal uploaded a video to YouTube of an act in which he asked a 14-year-old teenager about her bra size. Internet users condemned the act by creating a petition on change.org to reject what Kemal did. Still in the same year, Kemal was again condemned for calling Zulham Zamrun "useless" during the final of the AFF Cup that pitted the Indonesian national football team against the Thai national football team; as a result, he was condemned by fans of the national team and Persib Bandung (Zulham's club at the time), leading to the hashtag #kemalpalevigakguna. His television work includes Stand Up Comedy Indonesia Kompas TV second season as third-place winner (2012), #KEPO as presenter (2014), SUPER as presenter and Sekolah Stand Up Milenial as a judge. His podcasts include Ancur (Antum Curhat) (2019-2023) and Overtime INA (2019-present).
