About Sammy Notaslimboy
Sammy Notaslimboy, born Sam Darma Putra Ginting on 14 May 1976, is an Indonesian stand-up comedian, comic, and actor of Karo descent who was born and raised in Bandung. Both his ethnic background and his hometown have shaped the comedy he performs on stage.
A graduate of the Institut Teknologi Bandung, he was active in student affairs and, during the unrest of 1998, worked as an orator known for a humorous style. He later built a career in information technology before founding his own IT development company, which he still runs alongside his comedy work.
Sammy is active in the Stand Up Indo community, where he first served as coordinator for relations with organizations outside the media before being entrusted with chairing the community from 2012. His steady involvement and consistently fresh material made him a frequent choice for lineups at Stand Up Indo events in various cities and on campuses.
In December 2011 he opened Indonesia's first solo stand-up show, Bhinneka Tunggal Tawa, staged at Teater Usmar Ismail in Kuningan, Jakarta. In February 2012 he took part in launching KOPER, an early stand-up comedy event staged with theatrical elements at Graha Bhakti Budaya, Taman Ismail Marzuki.
