About Gianfranco Butinar
Gianfranco Butinar was a voice of Italian radio, and his comedy lived where football and impressions meet. He worked for the Roman station Radio Radio, where he was voted the best radio personality in Rome, and he became a regular in the football comedy of the Gialappa's Band, from Rai dire gol on Radio2 to Rai Dire Europei, with an appearance on Mai deejay gol on Radio Deejay during a World Cup.
His gallery of impressions ran to well over a hundred figures and leaned heavily on sport: Francesco Totti, the commentator Bruno Pizzul, Mario Balotelli, Claudio Ranieri and Fabio Capello, next to the singers Franco Califano and Vasco Rossi.
Later radio work brought sketches on the morning show A qualcuno piace presto on m2o, a place on Chiambretti ore 10 on Rai Radio 2, his own programmes Baldini a 90 on TMW Radio and Teste di Calcio on RMC Sport Network, and weekly guest spots on Tiki Taka with Piero Chiambretti. With Gianni Ippoliti he devised the stage show Tutti i calci minuto per minuto, and he took the lead in the film Non escludo il ritorno, directed by Stefano Calvagna, playing Franco Califano.
