Maurizio Battista

Maurizio Battista is an Italian stand-up comedian, cabaret performer, actor, television host and theater director born on June 29, 1957 in Rome. Active in theater since 1978, he is one of the most popular Roman cabaret comedians, known for observational stand-up about everyday Italian life and absurd real-world news clippings, and for filling theaters across Italy with his current tour Maurizio Battista Tour 2025/2026.

Of ciociaro roots and born in the San Giovanni district of Rome, where he worked as a boy in his family's bar, Battista started doing theater in 1978 and made his television debut in 1989 on the tenth edition of Fantastico, alongside Massimo Ranieri, Anna Oxa and Giancarlo Magalli. In 2001 he opened his first headlining theater show Vatte a fida at the Teatro Sistina in Rome, launching a long run of one-man shows that have toured Italy nonstop. His comedy turns everyday behavior, family relationships and absurd real-life news articles into long observational monologues, all delivered in a recognizably Roman cadence. Over more than four decades he has filled venues from the Teatro Olimpico in Rome to theaters across the country, and his current Maurizio Battista Tour 2025/2026, produced by Ventidieci and Soleluna, has dates booked at venues including the Teatro delle Muse in Ancona, the Teatro Lirico Giorgio Gaber, Teatro Apollo and Spoleto. He is also a regular face on Italian television and one of the few Roman cabarettists with a continuously active national theater tour.

Maurizio Battista is currently on his Maurizio Battista Tour 2025/2026 across Italian theaters, with tickets sold on TicketOne and Vivaticket and dates at the Teatro Olimpico Roma, Teatro delle Muse Ancona, Teatro Lirico G. Gaber Milan, Teatro Apollo and Spoleto, among others. His back catalogue of clips, sketches and full shows is available on his Maurizio Battista Official Channel on YouTube and his updates run on Instagram @maurizio_battista.
