About Seyarogai Ojisan (Kosuke Emori)
Seyarogai Ojisan is the stage persona of Japanese comedian Kosuke Emori, who normally performs as the straight man (tsukkomi) in the Okinawa-based comedy duo Lip Service. Since September 2017, Emori has used the solo character Seyarogai Ojisan, a Kansai-dialect phrase roughly meaning "isn't that right!?", to deliver social and political commentary monologues, frequently filmed in a red loincloth against an Okinawan beach backdrop. Beyond his online videos, he has built a separate career performing solo stand-up comedy live, described by the Okinawa Times as a "pin geinin" (solo comedian) act distinct from his duo work. He has headlined stand-up comedy shows in Okinawa billed as Japan's largest stand-up comedy festival, and has performed dedicated solo stand-up sets in cities including Okinawa City and Hiroshima. His stand-up sets often address subjects considered taboo for a mainstream Japanese audience.
