Gatis Kandis
About Gatis Kandis
Gatis Kandis is a Latvian comedian, actor and YouTuber, born on July 29, 1981, and raised in the Latvian village of Dundaga. He studied physics in Riga before transferring to the Student Theatre at the University of Latvia to study acting, later working at an amusement park in Los Angeles before settling in the West Hendon area of London, where he worked as a carer supporting people with autism.
Kandis is known for a style of comedy that is intentionally bad, which Britain's Got Talent judges Simon Cowell and David Walliams described respectively as "the funniest unfunniest comedian" and "so bad, it's actually brilliant." He reached the semi-finals of the sixth series of Britain's Got Talent in 2012. He has since appeared as a guest comedian on Big Brother, played the role of Hansl in five episodes of the sitcom What the Frick? in 2020, and won the "Not-So-New Comedian of the Year" award at a Leicester Square comedy show in 2019.
