Nicolas Tawk

Nicolas Tawk is a Lebanese stand-up comedian from Bcharre, in northern Lebanon, who became one of the leading names on Beirut's underground stand-up circuit built around the awk.word comedy platform. Performing largely in Arabic, he draws his material from everyday life, family, relationships and city life, and is known for extensive crowd work during his sets. Tawk built his reputation performing at Beirut venues during Lebanon's economic crisis of the early 2020s, when his sets addressing the country's collapsing economy drew wide attention, including a joke about the flea market slashing its prices that was quoted in international press coverage of Lebanon's crisis-era comedy scene. His debut solo show, Ana Mesh Hek, sold out repeated performances and drew more than 6,000 attendees across Beirut and Paris, with a 25-minute cut of the special later made available on YouTube. His second show, Awwal Marra, sold out in Beirut in the summer of 2024 before touring Europe and the Arab world. He has continued to tour internationally, including stand-up shows in the Gulf region alongside fellow Lebanese comedians, and remains a regular performer on awk.word's Beirut shows, including its long-running The Lineup showcase.
