Addy Teyer

Addy Teyer is a Mexican comedian and theater director, born in 1985 in Merida, Yucatan, with family roots in the southern municipality of Tekax. A graduate in theater from the Escuela Superior de Artes de Yucatan, she has spent about a decade performing stand-up and comedy under her character Wera Rapera, giving more than 100 performances that mix stand-up, theater, live music and puppetry, and she is the character's artistic director and writer. Teyer's comedy carries an explicitly feminist message, addressing gender-based violence alongside stories from her own childhood, and she is a founding member of the Merida women's comedy collective Mujeres Comedia. She also works as artistic director for Medusa Producciones and Coleboca and is a member of the theater company Sa'as Tun. In January 2026 she became the first Yucatecan woman to reach the final of Amazon Prime Video's comedy competition LOL: Buscando Talento, hosted by Eugenio Derbez.
