Angélica Vale
About Angélica Vale
Vale's comedy is built on impersonation. She spent the years from 2000 to 2005 as one of the main celebrity impressionists on the sketch show La Parodia, taking on Veronica Castro, Shakira, Thalia and Laura Leon among others, and followed it with El Privilegio de Mandar, a running parody of the telenovela El Privilegio de Amar. She later captained a team on the impression contest Parodiando.
Comic acting gave her the part she is best known for, the lead in La Fea Mas Bella, where the performance had to carry slapstick and sentiment in the same scene. The musical stage is the other place she works, in Mentiras: El Musical and as Mama Morton in the Mexican production of Chicago, and she performs Las Angelicas, a show mixing stage comedy, theatre and concert, together with her mother. In dubbing she is the Spanish voice of Ellie in the Ice Age films, and she has hosted a morning radio show in Los Angeles.
