Blanca Salces

Blanca Salces is a Mexican actress and stand-up comedian who has been recognized as one of the people who helped establish stand-up comedy workshops at Foro Shakespeare, one of Mexico City's key independent theater venues for the genre's early development. Trained at the Stella Adler acting school in Los Angeles, she built a screen career with film credits including El Bulto (1992), Aquí No Pasa Nada (1992) and Volveré (2023), while separately developing a stand-up act built on feminist and political material. Her show DeLiberada examines how women navigate newly won freedoms and the expectations still placed on them, and she has performed stand-up sets on subjects ranging from Mexico's energy reform to science, including an appearance on the public broadcaster Canal 11. Salces has spoken publicly about the importance of rhetorical technique in comedy and has positioned herself as an outspoken, combative voice among Mexican women in stand-up.
