About El Cojo Feliz
El Cojo Feliz, born Hugo Alberto Pérez Acevedo on October 30, 1988, in Mexico City, is a Mexican stand-up comedian. At age 21 he was diagnosed with bone cancer in his knee and lost part of the affected leg, an experience that later became central material in his comedy. After graduating in computer science from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, he began doing stand-up following a show at a bar, building a sarcastic, self-critical style. He has appeared on television programs including 'Es de Noche y Ya Llegué,' 'Héctor Suárez Roast,' Comedy Central specials and 'Standparados,' and competed on the third season of the reality competition 'LOL: Last One Laughing México' in 2021. He co-hosts, with fellow comedian Tío Rober, the long-running YouTube podcast 'La Hora Feliz.' He has toured nationally and internationally and has appeared in Netflix comedy productions, using his stand-up to show that disability and happiness are not mutually exclusive.
