About Eliza Sonrisas
Eliza Sonrisas is a Mexican stand-up comedian who is trans and lesbian, and holds a degree in graphic design along with a master's in illustration. She spent more than ten years working as a graphic designer, a career she felt limited her creativity, before turning to stand-up comedy. Describing herself as an 'artivist,' she uses comedy to address LGBT rights, equality and inclusion, drawing on her own experience as a trans lesbian woman to challenge audience prejudice. Her stand-up special 'Voz de Pito' is available on her YouTube channel. She has expanded into online content across several shows, including 'El Espacio de Sonrisas' and 'La Duplex' on her own channel, 'Me Vibra' on the channel Escándala, and 'Capital Foráneo' on Círculo Rojo, in addition to occasional livestreams on Twitch under the name 'Mix & Paint.'
