Frida Araujo

Frida Alejandra Araujo Fernández, known as Frida Araujo, is a Mexican stand-up comedian born in March 1996 in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, the daughter of theater teacher and director Verónica Fernández, whose classes exposed Frida to acting from an early age. As a teenager she also formed the rock band that became Sibella, blending genres into a style the group calls 'texabilly.' She began stand-up comedy in 2019 after her partner and fellow comedian Ángel Garmont encouraged her to take the stage, and she trained with comedian Myr Ramírez. She has toured solo stand-up shows including 'Sufrida Tour' and 'Stand Up Activista,' performing in cities such as Tijuana and in Mexico City. She was confirmed as a participant on 'LOL: Last One Laughing México' and took an acting role in the Netflix series 'Los Gringo Hunters,' released in July 2025. She is also completing a psychology degree at the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez, researching stand-up comedy as a tool of resilience for comedians.
