About Paul Williams
Paul Williams grew up in Nelson and works as a comedian, writer and songwriter. His stand-up show Summertime Love, framed as a mock dating seminar, toured New Zealand and went on to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He was also nominated for the Billy T. Award, the national prize for the best new comedian.
On television he is the Taskmaster's Assistant on Taskmaster NZ, working next to Jeremy Wells, and one of the writers behind the show's tasks and script. He stars in the TVNZ comedy series Kid Sister, took second place on the panel show Guy Montgomery's Guy Mont-Spelling Bee, and created and executive produced the comedy spy series New Zealand Spy for TVNZ 2. Music sits beside the comedy rather than inside it: he has put out the EPs Songs about Girls and Jungle River Adventure and the album Surf Music.
