Viggo Venn

Viggo Venn is a clown first and a comedian second, and the order matters to everything he does on stage. After studying economics in Norway he went to France to train at École Philippe Gaulier and learn from Philippe Gaulier himself.

For four years he toured a double act, Zach and Viggo, with the American comedian Zach Zucker. Their show Thunderflop was named Best Comedy at Brighton Fringe in 2016 and picked up a weekly award at Adelaide Fringe the following year. His solo piece The Life of Pepito brought a Best Comedy nomination in Brighton and another at Fringe World in Perth in 2018. In London he won the New Acts of the Year Show in 2022 and was runner-up in the New Comedian of the Year contest run by the Leicester Square Theatre. With John-Luke Roberts, Julia Masli and Sami Abu Wardeh he co-created Clownts, a clown show run as a competition.

Television audiences met him through a routine built on almost nothing: a man wearing layer upon layer of high-visibility clothing and peeling it off one garment at a time. It carried him through Britain's Got Talent to a £250,000 prize and a slot at the Royal Variety Performance in the Royal Albert Hall. He later took the act to Germany's Supertalent, where Dieter Bohlen handed him the Golden Buzzer.
