About Candy Pangilinan
Pangilinan began in Philippine romantic comedies in the early 1990s, in supporting parts such as Hindi Magbabago opposite Carmina Villarroel, and took a lead in Dahil Ba sa Kanya. Comedy moved to the centre of the work in 2007 with Apat Dapat, Dapat Apat, made alongside Rufa Mae Quinto, Pokwang and Eugene Domingo.
Television gave her the longest run of all. She appeared in Mula sa Puso, played sidekick to Claudine Barretto's character in Saan Ka Man Naroroon, and was part of the Philippine versions of I Love Betty La Fea and Only You, followed by Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin, Forever and Hiram na Puso. She was also a guest on the trivia game show Celebrity Bluff. The prizes, though, came from a different register: her work in Star na si Van Damme took best actress at CineFilipino and at the Los Angeles International Film Festival.
