Dan Badea

Dan Badea is a Romanian stand-up comedian, actor, and television personality born on July 23, 1976, in Bucharest. Considered one of the founding figures of Romanian stand-up comedy, he trained as an actor at UNATC (the National University of Theatre and Film) under professor Dem Radulescu. He began his entertainment career as a DJ under the name DJ Star before transitioning to stand-up in the early 2000s, accumulating over 1,000 live performances and 30 million YouTube views over his career.

Dan Badea recorded two stand-up specials for HBO Romania and six specials for Comedy Central, making him one of the most prolific Romanian comedians in terms of premium platform output. He appeared in 'Stand-up Cafe' on HBO Romania - an early flagship of Romanian stand-up on television - and hosted and co-presented iUmor on Antena 1, Romania's biggest TV comedy show. He also served as a judge on Stand-up Revolution (Antena 1) for two seasons. In 2022 he performed at Comedy Store London, and he is notably the first Romanian stand-up comedian to perform at Comedy Store Hollywood. His 2025 touring show 'Generatia chiX' and subsequent 2026 tour 'Domnu Danut' have reached audiences across Romania and in European cities including London, Amsterdam, and Cologne. His acting background gives his stand-up a distinctive physicality and character-work quality that sets it apart from conventional observational comedy.

Dan Badea is actively touring in 2026 with his show 'Domnu Danut', with confirmed dates across Romania (Bucharest, Sibiu, Bacau, Alba Iulia, Brasov) and international dates in the UK (London at Greenwood Theatre, Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham) and continental Europe (Amsterdam, Cologne). He also performs work-in-progress material at Club99 in Bucharest under the 'A Show is Born' format. His stand-up is available on YouTube at his official channel and was previously available via ComedyBox.
